DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A Dauphin County man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to flee from a traffic stop.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Pennsylvania State Police, on June 27 at 11:06 p.m., a trooper noticed a bicyclist traveling northbound in a southbound lane. The bike didn't have a white lamp or a red lamp lit despite it being after sunset.

A traffic stop was initiated and the bicyclist was stopped near a gravel parking lot in East Hanover Township.

The bicyclist identified himself as "Corey Hoover" but then reportedly fled the traffic stop on his bike.

After numerous attempts to get him to stop, he was tased by an officer and arrested. The suspect was identified as Corey Steven Brodbeck-Coover, 45, from Grantville.

Pennsylvania State Police quickly discovered that Brodbeck-Coover was wanted by both officers in Dauphin and Lebanon Counties for a probation violation and domestic relations contempt of court violations, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Brodbeck-Coover allegedly had a small glass vial on him containing cocaine/methamphetamine (still awaiting lab testing confirmation), a silver spoon with suspected methamphetamine residue, a white wax paper baggie with suspected narcotics residue and a glass smoking device with suspected methamphetamine residue.

Brodbeck-Coover has been charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, resisting arrest and multiple traffic violations.
