HARRISBURG, Pa. — A former middle school teacher and wrestling coach for the Central Dauphin School District has been accused of exchanging sexually explicit photos with two female students, detectives with the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office claim in charging documents.
Alexander Sweigard, 32, of Camp Hill, is charged with disseminating sexually explicit material to a minor, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, sexual abuse of children (child pornography), institutional sexual assault and sexual abuse of children (dissemination of child sex acts), according to the Dauphin County District Attorney's Office's Criminal Investigation Division.
A school district spokesperson said Sweigard has been removed from all positions.
"We are fully cooperating with law enforcement and Mr. Sweigard was immediately removed from all positions at Central Dauphin once we learned of the allegations," director of communications Shannon Leib said. "This is a personnel matter and we can make no further comment."
Authorities began investigating Sweigard on September 12, when the parents of one of his alleged victims, a 16-year-old girl, brought her in to be interviewed and produced her cell phone for a forensic examination.
In an interview with investigators, Sweigard allegedly admitted to sending nude photos to the girl and encouraging her and another juvenile girl to send him nude photos as well, according to investigators.
Sweigard also allegedly admitted to having sex with a different student, who was 18 years old at the time, according to investigators.
Court records indicate Sweigard has been arraigned on the charges and is awaiting a preliminary hearing, which has been scheduled for Sept. 24.
He is being held in Dauphin County Prison after failing to post bail, court records show.
