HARRISBURG, Pa. — Officials in Harrisburg have released statements regarding Saturday's Neo-Nazi march.
The City of Harrisburg posted on Facebook, "Mayor Williams and Commissioner Carter are aware of video and pictures of a group of neo-Nazis carrying swastika flags and purporting to be in the downtown Harrisburg area. It is being investigated. The City of Harrisburg condemns these individuals in the strongest terms. Our city is one of love and peace, and their message of hate is not welcome. We will provide more information when it becomes available."
The Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg also released the following statement on Facebook:
"The Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg is aware of Saturday's neo-Nazi march in downtown Harrisburg. We are in contact with our partners at the Secure Community Network and with law enforcement, and we have taken measures to enhance security on and around the Alexander Grass Campus for Jewish Life. We have received no information indicating that any imminent credible threat exists against local Jewish organizations and congregations at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update the community should conditions change. The Federation is committed to ensuring that antisemitism and other forms of hate do not infiltrate any space - whether Jewish or not - in which we come together to work, worship, and gather."
The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
