HARRISBURG, Pa. — On Saturday night, Dauphin County officials said a section of the city was without power after a vehicle crashed into a pole.

One of the places affected was UMPC Harrisburg Hospital.

Officials with the hospital told FOX43 that the emergency generators were turned on around 10 p.m. on Saturday, but since the outage was so short, power was never switched from domestic power to the generator.

The power outage happened around 10:45 p.m., when a pickup truck hit a pole on the 1200 block of Paxton Street. The impact caused a transformer to explode.

As of Sunday morning, no power outages were seen on the PPL Outage Map.
