DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A 16-year-old has been charged with criminal attempted homicide after allegedly pulling out a gun and pointing it at a house party.

According to the Lower Paxton Township Police Department, on Sept. 14 at 10:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of English Court for a report of an incident involving a firearm.

The affidavit of probable cause states that at 9:45 p.m., a bunch of kids started running out of the home because a gun was pulled out downstairs. The caller reported that a birthday party was being held at the house and that an uninvited student, identified as Liam McMillen, 16, had pulled a gun on the partygoers.

According to video footage, someone said they would throw McMillen in the pool. McMillen allegedly got upset at the comment and pulled out what appeared to be a handgun from his waistband area.

McMillen reportedly pointed the firearm at another juvenile. A witness police spoke with said he saw McMillen rack the gun, point it at the juvenile's head, pull the trigger and run when the gun jammed.

No one was injured.

McMillen has been charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a minor. His bail has been denied and he is in Dauphin County Prison awaiting his preliminary hearing.
