HARRISBURG, Pa. — A portion of downtown Harrisburg has a new look, thanks to a $200,000 streetscape improvement project recently completed by Harristown Enterprises.

The streetscape improves in the city's SoMa (South of Market) area include permanent brick pavers, bike racks, planters, bollards, logos, and a large "Welcome to SoMa" sign along South Third Street between Market and Chestnut streets, Harristown Enterprises said in a press release.

"This unique Harrisburg destination is now a very distinctive and memorable neighborhood for block parties, festivals, and restaurant activity," Harristown Enterprises said. "(The project will) increase and enhance the neighborhood for retail and business activity and (will) improve pedestrian and cyclist safety and mobility" in addition to beautifying the neighborhood.
