17-year-old killed after head-on crash in Dauphin County

An unidentified 17-year-old boy from Gratz was killed in the head-on collision, State Police said. He was one of the drivers.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A 17-year-old is dead after a head-on collision between two cars in Dauphin County over the weekend.

Pennsylvania State Police say the crash occurred around 4:17 p.m. on Dec. 3 on State Route 209 near its intersection with Berry Road in Williams Township.

The crash occurred when a Chevrolet Malibu driving east on Route 209 crossed the center line and struck a Ford Escape head-on.

The Dauphin County coroner pronounced an unidentified 17-year-old boy from Gratz dead at the scene, State Police said. He was driving the Malibu.

The six people in the Escape were taken to a local hospital for treatment. One of the passengers had a suspected serious injury; troopers were unclear on the severity of the rest of the injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call PSP - Lykens at 717-362-8700.
