YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A fire in Dauphin County has displaced nearly a dozen people and pets and closed a road this morning, according to firefighters at the scene.
The fire broke out around 5:10 a.m. on Oct. 30 at a house on East Canal Street in South Hanover Township.
Four adults, two children, two dogs and three cats are now without a home, but officials say no one was injured in the blaze.
East Canal Street was closed in the area of Shetland Drive and Sand Beach Road for several hours while firefighters worked.
They say the fire caused extensive damage to the second floor and the rear of the house, where the blaze ignited.
An official cause has not yet been determined.
