HARRISBURG, Pa. — Frontier Airlines will end all flights from Harrisburg International Airport in May, the company and HIA confirmed Friday.
The airline's last flight from HIA to Orlando International Airport will depart on May 13, according to the travel blog The Points Guy.
Orlando is the only destination from Harrisburg for the "ultra-low-cost carrier."
The other “ULCC” operating at HIA — Allegiant — will continue serving Orlando at nearby Orlando-Sanford airport, HIA said.
"Over the past month Frontier has begun a route network strategy shift from some leisure routes in Orlando and Las Vegas to more business travel routes between large cities," HIA spokesperson Scott Miller said. "As a result, their last flight from Harrisburg to Orlando International Airport will be on May 13th, 2024. They are ending Orlando service from 7 other cities later this summer as well.
"From HIA we still have great flight options to the Orlando region as Allegiant offers up to six flights a week to Orlando Sanford International Airport, and with summer service increases by American, Delta and United, there will be more connecting flight options to Orlando International Airport as well."
