DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — Dauphin County police have arrested a man reportedly involved in a case of child luring.
On Thursday, Oct. 3 at 3:50 p.m., Swatara police received a report of attempted child luring near the intersection of Brisban and Kelso Streets in Paxtang Borough.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a man- later identified as Nestor Monsalve-Prieto, from Harrisburg- attempted to lure a 12-year-old child into his vehicle.
The victim told police that she was walking east on Brisban Street at Kelso Street in Harrisburg when a car approached. The driver, Monsalve-Prieto, allegedly began speaking to the victim in Spanish. He told the victim that she needed to get closer to his car so she could hear him, which she denied.
Monsalve-Prieto allegedly then told the victim that she should get in his car to talk with him. The victim denied again and walked away.
The victim was able to enlist the help of an adult in the area and stayed with them until the suspect left the area and the police arrived.
Swatara Township PD Detectives located the vehicle and identified and interviewed Monsalve-Prieto. According to the affidavit of probable cause, he first denied saying anything to the victim, then stated that he said hello and asked how she was in Spanish.
When pressed further, Monsalve-Prieto allegedly stated that he said hello to the victim because she was pretty.
According to the victim's mother, this was not the first this had happened and the family had seen Monsalve-Prieto multiple times in the area before.
Monsalve-Preito has been charged with luring a child into a motor vehicle. He was unable to post his $250,000 bail and was committed to Dauphin County Prison.
