Harrisburg man arrested, charged with stabbing that injured one

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — A Harrisburg man has been arrested following a stabbing that injured one. 

Royce Carter, 34, from Harrisburg has been charged with aggravated assault- attempts to cause serious bodily injury or causes injury with extreme indifference, aggravated assault- attempts to cause or causes bodily injury with a deadly weapon and simple assault. 

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Oct. 22, officers were dispatched to a home along the 2000 block of Magnolia Terrace for a reported stabbing. 

At the scene, officers encountered the victim lying on the floor with a "large amount of blood" around him. EMS arrived minutes later and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

According to a witness, before the stabbing, Carter was aggressively knocking on a door. She reported seeing the victim and Carter in a "scuffle" when Carter alleged that he had a knife. 

The witness stated that the victim attempted to pin Carter's hand to the ground as the two fought when Carter stabbed the victim once in the left abdomen. 

The victim realized he was stabbed and stumbled back inside. 

According to online court documents, Carter was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 24 and was unable to post his $50,000 bail.
