HARRISBURG, Pa. — A popular movie theater in Harrisburg will reopen doors that have been closed for months this Friday.
Midtown Cinema announced on Facebook that its grand reopening will be held on Friday, Oct. 18.
"We've replaced carpets, re-replaced soundproof insulation, crossed our t's and dotted our i's and we're putting the final touches on the lobby for guests to enjoy walking in those great double glass doors again," officials with the cinema wrote on Facebook.
The building shut its doors in early September due to flooding caused by the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby. The cinema was flooded overnight and the damage was significant enough to force an over two-month-long closure.
To celebrate the grand reopening, guests can join staff at 4 p.m. for a ribbon cutting and Happy Hour at Zeroday Outpost from 4-6 p.m., featuring tours of the facility and projector rooms, live music by Trace Jordan and a wave of screenings around 7:30 p.m., featuring "The Apprentice," "Rumors" and "Saturday Night."
While supplies last, members at Midtown Cinema will get in free to a film of their choice that evening!
"We can't express our gratitude for the support each one of you have shown us over the last 2+ months as we've dealt with flooding and everything else," the Facebook post reads. "So thank you, thank you, thank you and here's to the beginning of many more screenings in dry theaters. We can't wait to welcome you back in."
