HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Harrisburg man has been charged with attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault after an alleged stabbing Sunday afternoon in Lower Paxton Township.
Dionte Payne, 24, was charged after the victim in the alleged incident identified him as the perpetrator, according to Lower Paxton Township Police.
The victim sustained multiple stab wounds to his neck, back and legs, as well as significant blunt force trauma to the face, police said. He was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle for treatment.
The incident occurred in an apartment on the 300 block of Ringneck Drive at approximately noon on Nov. 3, police said. Investigators found blood on the steps leading to the apartment and a pool of blood inside the home's front door, according to the criminal complaint affidavit.
Payne was taken into custody Sunday afternoon, about an hour after the alleged incident. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Rebecca Jo Margerum, who denied bail, and was remanded to Dauphin County Prison.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 14, according to court records.
