DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — There will be an increased police presence across a Dauphin County high school following a reported threat of violence.

Dr. Mick Iskric Jr., the superintendent of Steelton-Highspire Jr./Sr. High School announced on Facebook that out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased police presence across campus on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

"This precaution is being taken in response to a threat which was reported to administration by a student, regarding someone bringing a weapon to the Jr./Sr. high school tomorrow. Local law enforcement are aware," Dr. Iskric wrote.

He wrote the safety of students and staff is top priority which is why the extra precautions are being taken.
