HARRISBURG, Pa. — A teenage suspect was arrested Monday after a botched carjacking attempt in Susquehanna Township, police said.

Jamel Jackson, 18, of Susquehanna Township, was charged with attempted robbery, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass after the alleged incident, which occurred at 4 p.m. on the 3200 block of Crest Road, according to Susquehanna Township Police.

The victim reported he was working at home when he was approached by Jackson, who displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded the victim's vehicle, police claim.

The victim walked Jackson to his vehicle, but before Jackson could take it, the victim retrieved a shotgun that was stored inside the vehicle and pointed it at Jackson, who fled, according to police.

While fleeing, Jackson ran into a fence and fell, police said. The victim then held him at gunpoint and contacted police, who came to the scene and took Jackson into custody.

Jackson was arraigned on the charges, and bail was set at $50,000.
