HARRISBURG, Pa. — Harrisburg Police have charged a suspect in a shooting that killed two people and injured three others in the city last month.

Kameron Hymes, 27, was charged Wednesday with one count of homicide, four counts of recklessly endangering another person, one count of carrying a firearm without a license, and one count of possession of a firearm prohibited for his alleged involvement in the deadly shooting that occurred on the first block of South 15th Street on May 21.

Two people, Dominic Jackson, 27, and Zauhnteen Jackson, 21, both of Harrisburg, were killed in the shooting. Three others were injured.

According to police, officers responded to the area of South 15th and Chestnut streets in the city at about 8:30 p.m. on May 21 for a shots-fired report.

As officers were on their way to the scene, they were flagged down by a man in the 1400 block of Market Street who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his side, police said.

Officers administered first aid and called an ambulance, which took the man to the hospital.

When police arrived at the original scene, they found another man who had been shot several times and was suffering from serious injuries. Police were approached by a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg, and located a third male victim at the scene who was also struck by gunfire.

All three victims were also taken to the hospital, police said.

Authorities say the man who they found on Market Street as well as one of the male victims found near S. 15th and Chestnut Streets died at the hospital as a result of their injuries.

Hours after the shooting, a fifth victim -- a woman -- arrived at a local hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound, police said.

All five adult victims were shot in the same incident, which is considered a mass shooting, according to police.

Harrisburg Police said Wednesday their investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact the Harrisburg Police, at (717) 558-6900 or submit a tip online.
