HARRISBURG, Pa. — An inmate at Dauphin County Prison died Wednesday night after suffering a medical emergency in his cell, prison officials said Thursday.
Michael Butler, 36, was found unresponsive in his bunk by prison staff responding to a medical emergency call at 9:38 p.m., officials said.
Life-saving measures began at 9:39 p.m. and ceased at 10:22 p.m., when Butler was pronounced dead.
Officials said that Dauphin County Criminal Investigations Division and DCP Internal Affairs responded and have initiated investigations.
Butler was committed to DCP on Jan. 12 on charges of aggravated assault and a bench warrant.
