HARRISBURG, Pa. — The National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg will close for three days later this month so that workers can carry out scheduled maintenance ahead of its annual Community Free Day on Saturday, February 17.
The museum, located on Lincoln Circle, will be closed from Tuesday, Feb. 13 through Thursday, Feb. 15, so that staff members can deep clean the galleries and behind-the-scenes areas, as well as install the newest temporary exhibit, "The Overland Campaign 1864."
The maintenance closure will ensure that the museum is in top condition for its visitors, officials said.
"We are committed to providing our visitors with an exceptional experience, and that includes maintaining the museum to the highest standards," museum CEO Jeffrey Nichols said. "This temporary closure will allow us to carry out essential maintenance work and install our latest exhibit, which we believe will be of great interest to our visitors."
The National Civil War Museum is scheduled to reopen on Friday, February 16, and resume its regular hours of operation.
