HARRISBURG, Pa. — Palestinian-Americans returned to the steps of the state capitol today fighting to help those caught in the middle of Israel's war with Hamas. Nabila Taha was among the crowd of hundreds.
She wrote her name in pen on her hand. Taha says children in Gaza are doing the same so that parents have a better chance of being able to identify them in case they are killed.
The death toll there climbs every day, as Israel continues to bombard the strip in preparation for a ground invasion.
The more than two-million people in the densely populated area have lacked basic necessities, including food and clean water. Nabila emphasized the need to care for the innocent lives in the region for both the short and long-term.
"We want to stop the fighting, that's one. Second we need to lift the siege of Gaza," she said. "Third, we need to get medical supplies, food, electricity."
