Harrisburg homicide victim identified, investigation continues

According to officials, Thomas Davenport III, 38, from Harrisburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — One person was killed in a shooting Friday evening in Harrisburg.

City police officers were called to a home on N. 14th Street near Walnut Street around 5 p.m. and were on scene for several hours. The Dauphin County Crisis Response Team and the Dauphin County Coroner's Office were also on scene.

According to officials, Thomas Davenport III, 38, from Harrisburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. His manner of death was a gunshot wound to the arm and chest and was ruled a homicide.

Police told FOX43 that there is one suspect. Officers spent hours trying to determine if the suspect was inside the home. 

As of Sept. 17, no arrests had been made in connection to the incident.

Police say this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
