Three new vendors join the Broad Street Market line-up

Cherished Treasures, Diaspora and Taylor Chip will join former vendors in the upcoming structure.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Editor's note: The above video is from April 10.

The Broad Street Market Alliance announced on Monday that three new vendors have been selected to round out the 16 vendor spaces in the new structure across from the Stone Building.

The following vendors will join seven others (Doggie Delights, Fisher's Delights, Lil's Pretzels, Peachridge Produce, rijuice, Shawarma & Falafel and Two Brothers BBQ) that were displaced by last July's fire:

  • Cherished Treasures, a local chocolatier with a dedicated clientele
  • Diaspora, growers of fresh produce and potted flowers
  • Taylor Chip, the popular maker of "delightfully perfect" cookies, coffee and ice cream

"The Broad Street Market is thrilled to welcome these three new vendors to the Market community, each of whom brings with them a diverse array of products with a loyal following," said Eric Hagarty, Chair of the Market. "We are excited for their existing customers to have greater access to their products and for others to have the opportunity to join their legions of fans."

The Market received many applications to operate in the new structure, and the selection process was highly competitive. Applicants who were not selected during this round will have the opportunity to be considered for future permanent positions with the Market, as well as for upcoming opportunities to serve as pop-up vendors.

The Broad Street Market, founded in 1860, is the oldest continuously operated market house in the United States. It serves as the long-time anchor of retail activity in Harrisburg's Midtown business corridor, with dozens of vendors providing locally grown and organic produce, meats, baked goods, freshly prepared meals and more.

Despite the fire that burned down the Brick Building last year, the Stone Building remains open for business Thursdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
