HERSHEY, Pa. — Tröegs Independent Brewing announced it is teaming up with three other Pennsylvania-based independent brewers to produce Storm the Field, a Double IPA that will be released to coincide with the inaugural Hoppy Valley Brewers Fest at Penn State University's Beaver Stadium on Saturday.
The beer is a collaboration with Antifragile Brewing Co., Warwick Farm Brewing and Sworn Brewing Co., Tröegs said in a press release.
Storm the FIeld is a 9.2% ABV West Coast-style Double IPA, Tröegs said.
“This beer leans into juicier, modern West Coast-style flavors,” says Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner. “We’ve experimented with Nectaron hops for a few Scratch Beers and loved the results, so we jointly built a beer around that hop and its juicy stone fruit flavors.”
Featuring a hop combination of Azacca, Chinook, Citra and Nectaron, Storm the Field boasts notes of nectarine, peach and a hint of pine.
“This beer was born out of the same inspiration as the Hoppy Valley Brewers Festival – to bring brewers together in a collaborative effort and treat beer lovers to something really special,” says Antifragile owner and event co-organizer John Schaffer.
Beer drinkers who can’t make it to the Hoppy Valley Brewers Fest can find Storm the Field on draft and in limited 16oz. cans at Tröegs as well as in parts of Pennsylvania and Delaware using the Tröegs Brew Finder.
The Hoppy Valley Brewers Fest will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday (noon entry for VIPs) at Penn State's Beaver Stadium. Attendees will have the chance to enjoy the taste of hand-crafted beers while strolling around the field inside the world's fourth-largest stadium.
More than 75 exhibitors are expected to attend, featuring a "wide selection of beverages catering to every palate," organizers said.
