HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Delaware County man accused of stabbing another person was apprehended by authorities in Harrisburg, according to State Police.
Umar Pressley, 29, was apprehended Tuesday afternoon with another man in a 2001 Subaru Outback that had been reported stolen out of Berks County earlier that day, according to State Police.
Authorities believe Pressley was driving a stolen GMC Terrain that was found unoccupied by police in Berks County on the shoulder of Interstate 78, about four miles from where the Subaru was stolen.
Pressley, of Chester, is charged with attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and possessing an instrument of crime in relation to an alleged stabbing that occurred Tuesday in Tinicum Township, Delaware County.
The victim was found in the lobby of a Holiday Inn Express, where he had collapsed at the front desk, according to police. He reported that he and Pressley had been staying at a different hotel nearby. They were in the parking lot of that hotel when Pressley suddenly began stabbing him, the victim reported.
The victim sustained multiple injuries, including lacerations and stab wounds to his back, left leg, and face, according to police.
The victim, who believed he was dying of his injuries, was adamant in identifying Pressley as the man who stabbed him, police said. He even attempted to write Pressley's name in blood on the floor of their hotel room.
After the stabbing, the victim reported, Pressley then fled the scene in the victim's GMC Terrain, police said.
In addition to the charges related to the stabbing, Pressley is also charged with multiple counts of robbery and theft related to the stolen vehicles, police said.
