Food delivery driver reunited with French Bulldog after car was stolen with dog inside

When the victim's vehicle was stolen, their 4-year-old French Bulldog – Recardito – was inside.

WASHINGTON — A French Bulldog was reunited with its owner hours after a car was stolen with the dog inside. 

Early Sunday morning, the owner of the French Bulldog parked their car around 3 a.m. in the 1900 block of 14th Street, Northwest. They're a food delivery driver who was picking up a food order.

When they returned to their vehicle, they found that it had been stolen. Inside the vehicle was their 4-year-old French Bulldog – Recardito.

DC Police said the vehicle was later recovered, but Recardito was not inside.

Hours later, police announced that Recardito had been found reunited with his owner. Police shared a picture of the reunion, showing the owner lovingly holding the French Bulldog.

Police continue to search for who stole the car with Recardito inside. Anyone with information may contact detectives at (202) 727-9099 or by texting the department's tip line at 50411. MPD currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
