Coroner: Man dies after I-81 crash in Cumberland County

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — One man has been pronounced dead after Sunday's fatal tractor-trailer crash on I-81 in Cumberland County.

According to the Cumberland County Coroner's Office, reports came in for a pedestrian struck on I-81 at Mile Marker 61.7 at 8:13 a.m.

Upon arrival, it was learned by officials that Quinton J. Heckard, 26, of Hummelstown, was struck by a tractor-trailer driving southbound after Heckard stepped in front of the truck from the shoulder of the road.

Heckard was pronounced dead at the scene, and his cause was listed as having multiple traumatic injuries.

The Pennsylvania State Police and Cumberland County Coroner's Office are continuing to investigate.
