LITITZ, Pa. — The Lititz Borough Police Department is investigating a crash that killed one person on Memorial Day.
The crash occurred just before 8 p.m. in the 400 block of West Lincoln Avenue, between Arrowhead Drive and South Walnut Street, in Lititz on May 27, according to police.
Officers say initial calls to 911 indicated that a car had crashed into a telephone pole, and the driver was thrown from the car onto the roadway. First responders took the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead of his injuries.
The Lancaster County Coroner's Office identified the driver as Anthony Perez, 22, of Lititz. His cause and manner of death are pending.
The investigation is ongoing, but police say preliminary on-scene information suggests the vehicle was traveling eastbound on West Lincoln Avenue before crossing into and across the westbound travel lane prior to striking the telephone pole.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available, officials said. Anyone with information related to this crash is asked to contact the LBPD at 717-626-6393 or submit a tip online.
