Police investigating crash into Harrisburg store that left a man dead

Authorities are investigating after a man was struck and killed, and multiple buildings were damaged after a crash.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Police are investigating a deadly crash into a Harrisburg store that left a pedestrian dead.

On Oct. 6 around 3:15 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of N. 2nd Street for a report of a crash.

Upon arrival, police found that a vehicle that was traveling north on N. 2nd Street had left the roadway and struck a pedestrian and multiple buildings.

As a result of the crash, officials confirm that 68-year-old Harrisburg resident Eusebio Forestier was struck and killed and the driver of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

Authorities say that Forestier was believed to have been on a mobility scooter when he was struck and killed, and an autopsy is scheduled for Oct. 8.

Treasure Trove, a toy store in the area of the crash, was struck and damaged heavily.

Jason Crocenzi, an owner of the store, said three people were inside the store at the time of the crash, but they were unharmed.

Crocenzi told FOX43 that Forestier was a customer who was returning to pick up items from the store.

The store posted on its Facebook page that it will be open as it cleans up the mess.

Officials say that an investigation into the crash is underway.
