Pedestrian killed after being struck while crossing Lincoln Highway East in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a highway in Lancaster County early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Nereida Rodriguez, 28, of Washington County, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:33 a.m., according to the Lancaster County Coroner's Office. A preliminary investigation determined she was struck by a vehicle while crossing the roadway on the 3000 block of Lincoln Highway East in Leacock Township.

An autopsy will be scheduled, but the preliminary indications are she died of multiple traumatic injuries, the coroner's office said.

Her cause and manner of death will be determined after the autopsy.

The incident remains under investigation.
