YORK, Pa. — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump visited York on Monday.
He delivered remarks on the economy at Precision Custom Components at 3 p.m. on Aug. 19.
Monday's event followed a rally in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, when false and misleading claims permeated the former president's nearly two-hour speech. According to the Associated Press, his speech included comments on the economy and criticism against President Joe Biden and Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.
Just last week, FOX43 chatted with Dr. Alison Dagnes, a political science professor from Shippensburg University, who says she believes the Trump campaign will continue to try to counter the Harris campaign.
“The Trump campaign is just trying to find something to stick on Vice President Harris that the public will understand and support in a very negative way...So, what I expect him to do is continue to try and find something that's going to damage her in the eyes of the voting public," Dagnes said.
Recent data shows Harris has a slight lead over former President Trump in Pennsylvania. Harris has about a 0.8% margin, according to a poll from The Hill released Friday.
Harris and Trump will hold their first debate in Philadelphia on Sept. 10.
