LANCASTER, Pa. — An Egyptian restaurant in Lancaster County recently started selling a Dubai chocolate bar that's gone viral on social media.
Koshary Station in Millersville shared their story of sweet success and showed how the treat is made.
The owner of the restaurant says the community's response to the viral chocolate bar has been overwhelming.
“People come from everywhere, Maryland, New Jersey, many different areas. They come to try our food and to support. We're so thankful for it,” said Radwa Matar, owner of Koshary Station.
The idea to sell the chocolate came through a customer asking if they sold it.
Matar says after that, her kids encouraged her to make it, and the rest was history. The chocolate bar started off as a catering order option and then became a staple item on the menu.
The Dubai chocolate bar is made in a chocolate mold with a layer of chocolate at the bottom, a pistachio butter mix in the middle, and another coat of chocolate on top.
A few minutes in the refrigerator solidifies the creation.
Matar says her restaurant was already busy before selling the viral chocolate, which made it hard to keep up with the demand.
“When we’re done, you have to wait until next week and ask for it because we’re short-staffed,” said Matar.
She says in the future, they plan to use the chocolate bar in different ways by putting it inside of a pie or other desserts.
But for now, they are trying to satisfy their many customers, one chocolate bar at a time.
