HARRISBURG, Pa. — Editor's note: The attached video is from a Sept. 20 broadcast.
Fall trout stocking season is coming to counties across 100 streams and lakes in Pennsylvania.
On Thursday, Oct. 12, officials with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) stocked hundreds of Rainbow Trout in the Quittapahilla "Quittie" Creek in Annville, Lebanon County.
The stream that was stocked is a Keystone Select section where anglers must use artificial lures and catch-and-release only.
Though there aren't as many trout stockings in the fall versus the spring, many anglers say they prefer the beautiful fall weather and lighter crowds. To find out where trout are being stocked this fall and winter, check out the schedule here.
In addition to the stocking, volunteers with the Doc Fritchey Chapter of Trout Unlimited gathered to say thank you to long-time Waterways Conservation Officer Doug Deppen, who covers portions of Dauphin and Lebanon Counties. After more than 20 years with the PFBC, Deppen is set to retire in December.
