GREENCASTLE, Pa. — A Maryland man died of injuries sustained in an early morning two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Franklin County Sunday, according to State Police.
Dru Feeley, 21, of Hagerstown, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. on I-81 North near the Zarger Road overpass, State Police said Monday.
An investigation of the crash determined Feeley was traveling north in the left lane of the interstate at a high rate of speed in a 2005 Dodge Neon when his vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer that was merging from the right lane.
The truck was moving over because of a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder of the interstate, police said.
After the impact, Feeley was ejected from his vehicle, police said. The investigation determined that he was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured, police said.
The investigation of the crash is ongoing, according to State Police. Any witnesses or drivers with dash cam footage of the crash are asked to contact State Police at (717) 264-5161.
