WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Firefighters are responding to a "major" brush fire in Franklin County, according to emergency dispatch.
It was reported shortly after 5 p.m. on Buchanan Trail East in Washington Township, dispatch said. The fire is reported to be covering 2-3 acres and spreading rapidly, dispatch said.
There are no reported injuries or road closures in connection to the blaze.
A second brush fire was reported earlier Friday in Dauphin County. Multiple crews responded to battle the blaze.
FOX43 issued a Red Flag Warning for elevated wildfire risk on Friday, due to dry weather and gusty wind conditions.
Several counties and municipalities across Central Pennsylvania have issued bans on open burning due to the weather conditions.
