WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Crews in Franklin County were at the scene of a large apartment fire on Sunday.
According to the Waynesboro Volunteer Fire Department, all units from Co. 2 were dispatched at 10:52 a.m. on June 16 for a multi-unit apartment fire on Philadelphia Avenue.
Six townhomes were damaged in the blaze, but the fire department's chief says none of the 12 displaced residents were injured in the fire. The Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced.
Two firefighters suffered minor burns and were taken to a nearby hospital, according to the chief.
The department stated that multiple roads were shut down due to the amount of units and hoses in the streets.

The fire department was assisted by fire crews throughout the region, including Maryland.
Pennsylvania State Police and the Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
