Franklin County area reopened after police incident, one arrest

A statement from the Borough of Waynesboro says that the incident involved one individual in the area of Hamilton and Cleveland Avenue.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Update, 4:20 p.m.: The Waynesboro Police Department announced that one person was arrested following a police incident on Sunday.

Police responded to the 200 block of Hamilton Avenue after receiving a tip that an individual with a warrant was at a residence on the block. 

The wanted suspect, Timothy Charles Bickham Jr., was arrested after a warrant was issued for one count of person's not to possess a firearm, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault by physical menace after an altercation on Oct. 1.

Bickham Jr. was taken into custody and transported to Franklin County Jail.

Officers confirmed that the area has been cleared and opened for access.

Previously: Police in Franklin County are on the scene of an active incident in Waynesboro.

According to the Borough of Waynesboro's Facebook page, police are involved in a contained incident involving one individual.

Residents are advised to avoid the area of Hamilton and Cleveland Avenue. 

At this time, there is no word on the nature of the incident and if any arrests have been made.
