WAYNESBORO, Pa. — A Franklin County borough has banned open burning until further notice due to dry weather conditions and the accompanying fire safety issues.
The borough of Waynesboro is prohibiting all open burning until further notice, the borough's police department said Wednesday.
Under the ban, the burning of lumber, paper, leaves, straw or other debris is prohibited. Outdoor grilling with charcoal or propane grills is not affected by the ban, the police department said.
Violators face potential fines of up to $1,000 or 30 days in jail, according to police.
