NEWBURG, Pa. — Note: The video is from July 2024.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission on Tuesday issued an advisory to travelers looking to enter the Pennsylvania Turnpike via the westbound Blue Mountain Interchange (Exit 201) later this week.
The westbound on-ramp will be temporarily closed from Wednesday night to early Thursday morning, the Turnpike Commission said.
The closure, scheduled from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday, is necessary to allow PA Turnpike crews to safely resurface the westbound on-ramp, the Turnpike Commission said.
Eastbound access will not be impacted.
Those looking to travel westbound at Blue Mountain can take the following detour to the Willow Hill Interchange (Exit 189):
- PA Route 997 South, 4.3 miles
- PA Route 641 West, 8.7 miles
- PA Route 75 South, 1.8 miles
- Enter at Willow Hill Interchange #189
Pennsylvania State Police and PA Turnpike personnel will be positioned at the impacted areas to assist drivers. Changeable message signs will also provide information on the closure. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly.
Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
