FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. — A favorite dessert chain is back by popular demand in Franklin County.

Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard has announced that its Chambersburg location on Wayne Avenue will be open year round.

According to a Facebook post, the Chambersburg location will reopen this Friday, Nov. 22, under its special winter hours. These hours will be Thursday-Sunday, 12-9pm, and will remain in place every week through January. Spring hours will begin in February.

To accommodate for the cold weather during winter hours, warm beverages will be offered at this location, including coffee, hot chocolate, hot cider and hot floats using Rita's custard. There will also be a drive-thru for customers who prefer to keep warm in their vehicles when ordering, as well as a walk-up window.

Rita's in Chambersburg also announced some upcoming promotions to celebrate the new winter hours, such as Pumpkin Concrete, Pumpkin Pie Ice and Pumpkin Frozen Coffee in November. Frozen Hot Cocoa Ice with optional Peppermint Topping, Peppermint Frozen Coffee and Peppermint Custard Milkshakes will be available in December.
