State Police: Pistol discharged during arrest, suspect suffers minor injury

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — State Police in Franklin County announced that a suspect suffered a minor injury during an arrest.

According to PSP, Troopers were requested by the Northern York Regional Police Department to serve a felony arrest warrant for Intimidation of a Victim/Witness related charges on Brett Daniel Crone, 43 of Greencastle, on July 27 at 8:24 p.m.

Troopers were familiar with Crone after serving a Protection from Abuse Order on him a few hours prior.

At approximately 8:40 p.m., officers observed Crone driving his vehicle in the area of Dresden Circle and Wedgewood Drive in Antrim Township, Franklin County. 

Troopers stated that a traffic stop was attempted, but Crone failed to stop. A brief pursuit was initiated, and pursuing members used legal intervention to terminate the pursuit in the area of Camden Drive at Essex Circle, Antrim Township. 

In the process of taking Crone into custody, a single round was discharged from a Trooper's pistol, stated PSP. Crone was then taken into custody.

Crone suffered a minor injury while being taken into custody, and no Troopers were injured.

The Troop H Major Case Team was activated, and Crone was booked in the Franklin County Prison on the York County Warrant.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
