GETTYSBURG, Pa. — A Gettysburg man accused of hurling a Molotov cocktail at the Adams County Courthouse last December has been indicted by a federal grand jury, U.S. Attorney David J. Freed's office announced Thursday.
Samson Paul Yohe, 28, was indicted Wednesday on charges of malicious intent to destroy a building by fire and possession of an unregistered firearm (destructive device), Freed's office said in a press release.
Yohe is accused of throwing an incendiary device commonly known as a Molotov cocktail through the window of the Adams County Courthouse on Dec. 22, 2019.
The device consisted of an antique yellow bottle filled with liquid and a cotton sock for a wick, Freed said. Yohe allegedly lit the sock before throwing the bottle through the window, according to Freed.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the incident, along with Gettysburg Borough Police, the Adams County Detective Bureau, the Adams County Sheriff's Office, and the Adams County District Attorney's Office, Freed said in the press release.
If he's convicted on the charges, Yohe faces a maximum penalty of 50 years in prison, followed by a term of supervised release and a fine.
