Hershey recognizes Hockey Week in America before game against Penguins

The 4-1 score might not reflect it, but Hershey scored a dramatic victory over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday night.

HERSHEY, Pa. — The Hershey Bears took part in Hockey Week Across America celebrations before Friday's game versus Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Hockey Week Across America was created by USA Hockey in 2008 to engage the hockey community in celebrating the sport at all levels and exposing the game to new audiences.

A ceremonial puck drop was held between the two teams with two junior officials taking part.

Once the game started, the Bears and Penguins played to a 1-1 tie until little over three minutes were remaining in the game. Hershey defenseman Chase Priskie scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal on the power play.

The Bears added two more goals into an empty net for a 4-1 final.

The Bears have a league-leading 40 wins on the season and host Rochester on Saturday night at Giant Center.
