YORK, Pa. — Update, Sept. 15: The York County Coroner's Office has released the identity of the victim involved in Thursday's fatal shooting.
Eric Wright, 29 years old, of York City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wright's cause of death was reported to be from multiple gunshot wounds, and police are still actively seeking information regarding the incident.
Previously: Police are conducting a homicide investigation in York.
Authorities say the incident occurred at the 800 block of W. College Avenue. York City Police responded to reports of a deceased male with multiple gunshot wounds at approximately 4:52 p.m. on Thursday.
According to authorities, the identity of the victim is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
