LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — At least two people are injured after crews responded to the scene of an early morning house fire.
According to emergency dispatch, fire crews were sent to a home in the 100 block of E. Chestnut Street in Ephrata Borough for reports of a fire.
As a result of the flames, E. Chestnut Street and Grape Alley are closed in the area.
Jim Kiefer, the PIO for Ephrata Fire Co., said that two people were injured in the fire, an occupant of the home, and a neighbor who helped assist in the rescue.
Both injured people are in the hospital.
Our crew at the scene said a dog was rescued from the home.
Officials said that the cause of the fire is under investigation, but it "devastated" the second floor of the home, and the home itself is not habitable any longer.
This is a developing story. FOX43 has a crew on the scene, and we will provide updates as they become available.
