One person injured after house fire in Dauphin County

Officials said one person was taken to the hospital with injuries suffered in the flames.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — One person was injured in a house fire in Dauphin County on Monday morning.

On Jan. 15 around 10:00 a.m., firefighters and police were dispatched to a home in the 600 block of Garden Dr. in Chambers Hill for a fire and explosion, Swatara Township Police said.

Authorities say one person was injured in the flames and was taken to the hospital by emergency services. 

Swatara Township Fire Chief Mike Ibberson says that the person suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Dauphin County Fire Investigation Team, and Ibberson said a "substantial amount" of damage was done to the home.
