HARRISBURG, Pa. — On Saturday, hundreds of people descended on Harrisburg for the grand opening of the 108th Pennsylvania Farm Show.
Families from all across the commonwealth came together to enjoy food, games and exhibits at one of the country's biggest agricultural events.
“There’s a lot of food and vendors to see," said Joeline Bingham, who drove from New Castle with her family. "It’s a little overwhelming because there’s so much to see, you don’t know where to go first.”
Many people had to battle the elements just to get to the Farm Show and Expo Center, as around four inches of snow dropped on the City of Harrisburg.
“If you’re from PA, you should be used to this," said Sagar Patel, who drove from New Cumberland to see the farm show. "We have winters like this, and I think we can handle it.”
Hundreds of people paid a visit to the food court throughout opening day. Many were able to try the best food Pennsylvania's farms had to offer.
"We had different meats, cheeses, and milkshakes," said Patel. "So I'm glad we came out, in spite of the snowstorm."
With each exhibit—families across our region are creating special memories and connecting with Pennsylvania’s agriculture.
“The Pennsylvania Farm Show is a trans-generational event that brings back a lot of memories for those of us who grew up in farms here in PA," said Jeremy Fuller, who is visiting from Duncannon. "[By] bringing our children back to the farm show, we can explain what our childhood was like.”
The Pennsylvania Farm Show runs until Saturday, January 13th.
