LANCASTER, Pa. — The Lancaster County Coroner's Office on Monday released additional details about a deadly crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Penn Township over the weekend.
Three people -- a father and his two children -- died in the crash, which involved a passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer, police said. The crash occurred Saturday morning near Mile Marker 268.8, according to police.
Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni identified the driver of the vehicle was identified as 43-year-old Donnell Hickson, of Baldwin, NY. Hickson's 18-year-old son, Decir Hickson, and his 11-year-old daughter, whose identity was withheld due to her juvenile status, were also killed in the crash.
All three were occupants of the passenger vehicle, which was heavily damaged in the early morning crash, Diamantoni said. All three occupants died of multiple traumatic injuries, and their manners of death were all ruled accidental.
The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to a local hospital, according to police.
State Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
