JUNIATA COUNTY, Pa. — A manufacturing facility in Juniata County will be permanently closing its doors.

Cabinetworks Group will be closing its Thompsontown location, which primarily manufactures cabinets for the multi-family housing segment of the market.

According to director of marketing Karen Brown, the multi-family housing sector has faced prolonged challenges, including significant year-over-year declines in housing which officials expect to continue in the foreseeable future.

The Thompsontown facility will cease operations on Dec. 12.

"We understand that the closure will have a significant impact on our team in Thompsontown," Brown wrote in a statement to FOX43. "In our commitment to support our team members through this transition, we will establish an on-site support system."

Brown says that the system will assist former workers with updating their resumes, preparing for interviews and other job-seeking help. The company did not say exactly how many employees would be impacted.

Cabinetworks Group is a part of Master Woodcraft Cabinetry LLC, which is Juniata County's largest employer, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry
