YORK COUNTY, Pa. — South Central Pennsylvania residents observed Labor Day Weekend on Sunday by enjoying the outdoors, both in public parks and community spaces.
People flocked to both Gifford Pinchot State Park in York County and community pools like Green Valley Swimming Pool in West Manchester Township for the holiday weekend.
Local residents enjoying the weekend say it's a chance to take a step back from the realities of everyday life and reflect.
"It's really, actually very amazing to be able to do that because it's not like lifestyles today," said Camp Hill resident Ed Pennypacker. "It gets very busy, and we get busy and we get wrapped up in things, and we don't get time to spend time and quality time. And this is just a perfect place to do that."
Most swimming pools in York County will close after Labor Day weekend.
