LANCASTER, Pa. — Lancaster Country Day School Board of Trustees has announced that they are parting ways with the Head of School and its Board President amidst the recent lawsuit from parents of the students who were affected by the AI-generated child pornography scandal.
Head of School Matt Micciche and Board President Angela Ang-Alhadeff transitioned their responsibilities on Nov. 15.
The school has yet to name an acting Head of School but said the Board of Trustees will be functioning in that capacity to support the senior leadership team as they manage day-to-day operations.
"The safety and well-being of our students is our school’s highest priority. And, as fiduciaries, the Board’s responsibility is to be the guardians of the mission and the future of the school about which we all care so deeply," said the Board. "Ultimately, the Board concluded that this is the right next step for our school at this time."
The plaintiffs of the lawsuit believe the school's mandated reporters failed to report an anonymous tip regarding the AI-generated child pornography of students to law enforcement last year.
The tip was made through the youth violence prevention program Safe2Say Something in November 2023.
Nearly 50 alleged victims have come forward since the start of the investigation. More than 200 students participated in a school walkout on Nov. 8.
A writ of summons was filed on Wednesday, Nov. 13 by Matthew Faranda-Diedrich, Esq., an attorney with law firm Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld LLC, in the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas.
The lawsuit names Micciche and Ang-Alhadeff as defendants in the case.
