Police: Lancaster County fire that injured one person is being investigated as an arson case

The fire occurred Sunday afternoon on the 600 block of Anderson Ferry Road near Mount Joy, police said.

MOUNT JOY, Pa. — Police are investigating a suspected arson fire that injured one person Sunday afternoon in Lancaster County.

The fire was reported at 3:38 p.m. on the 600 block of Anderson Ferry Road near Mount Joy, according to Susquehanna Regional Police.

Responding officers found a tenant of one of the building's residences suffering from first- and second-degree burns. The tenant was transported to Lancaster General Hospital, then transferred to the Lehigh Burn Center for additional treatment, according to police.

No one else was injured.

The fire is under investigation by the State Police Fire Marshall and Susquehanna Regional Police. 

The initial investigation determined the fire was intentionally set and is being investigated as an arson case, according to police.
